For many members the hands-on service to their community is what provides the most rewarding part of membership.

  • Bunwhiches. On the first monday of the month, 100 sandwiches are made for the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.  The food is prepared in the OKC's kitchen at their McKenzie Site.
  •  Pioneer Ridge BingoThe club hosts a montly bingo for seniors. Members setup/cleanup, call the numbers,  handout prizes donated by the club  and provide support to seniors with disabilities. 

  • OKC Christmas Dinner.  Members help set up, serve food and clean up.  Westfort's own Santa hands out gifts to underprivileged children some of which are donated by the club.

  • OKC Breakfast at McKenzie SiteMembers  prepare food and clean up for a community breakfast at the OKC McKenzie  site. The function would brings  in  60-90 from the McKenzie site area. including underprivileged families and their underfed children. It is a rewarding experience and Kiwanis volunteers free up OKC staff to work with the underprivileged one on one.

  • Blessing in a backpack.  Members help fill nutritious food into  backpacks for underprivileged school children to take home on weekends filling a gap in school breakfast programs on the weekend. The packages are delivered to  Sherbrooke, Ogden, McKellar Elementary Schools. Currently 180 children are helped by this program.

  • BBQ at fund raiser for leukemia. The club provides food services for a fund raiser at the Memorial Beer store.

  • Food booth at the  Bill Beavis Family Fun Day and Car Show. Chippewa Park . The club provides a food service (barbecue) for the July event created by long-time Kiwanian Bill Bea
